Question:
Why do you say that sprays are better than pills?
Answer:
In a word, “absorption”.
To use a VitaMist Spray, you spray a water-based mixture into the mouth and swallow instead of a taking a pill. This liquid is easily swallowed and easily digested.
Question:
What sources do you use for your vitamins?
Answer:
Whenever possible we use natural plant sources for our vitamins. This allows some of our sprays to be vegetarian and vegan friendly.
Question:
Are your products “allergy-free”?
Answer:
It is impossible to ever say that a product is “allergy-free”. Vitamist® products use the purest vitamins, minerals and other ingredients that are available, so the likelihood of someone experiencing an allergic reaction when using the products is extremely remote, but we cannot guarantee this.
Question:
How much does each tube of product hold?
Answer:
Each tube of VitaMist Spray holds 0.45 fl. oz. (13.3 ml), which is a 30 day (1 month) supply when used as directed, which is 8 sprays per day.
Question:
Are the products safe for diabetics?
Answer:
All the sprays contain small amounts of sweeteners and carbohydrates. The amounts delivered per adult daily dose of any of the products total less than one hundredth of an ounce, that is less than you would find in a single jelly-bean. However, diabetes is a disease which affects sufferers in different ways, so a diabetic user should monitor blood sugar levels just to make sure that there are no adverse reactions. Some members of the home office staff are insulin dependent diabetics and they have experienced no problems when using the products.
Question:
Are the products regulated by the FDA?
Answer:
Our products are dietary supplements and therefore we conform to all current good manufacturing practices, as defined by the FDA. The FDA does not “approve” any dietary supplements, but they do oversee and regulate their safety.
Question:
Can you send your studies on the absorption of VitaMist® products?
Answer:
VitaMist’s vitamin and mineral products are classified as dietary food supplements and therefore there are no direct studies that pertain to the absorption of VitaMist products. It is important to remember, however, that there are reams of laboratory studies that validate rapid absorption of various ingredients, and many recent medical advances have adopted a delivery method involving absorption through the buccal mucosa. We believe that this history of widespread acceptance of oral absorption in the medical arena provides a sufficient basis for acceptance in the dietary food supplement industry.
Question:
Why do I need VitaMist products?
Answer:
VitaMist uses only the highest grade, pure vitamins, minerals, and ancillary ingredients in the manufacturing process. The value of nutrient supplementation is beyond question and we believe that our unique patented delivery system provides the best available method for ingesting that nutrient supplementation in the entire marketplace.
Question:
I need to know what you recommend for .. (a specific disease).
Answer:
We sincerely wish that we could comment, however, you are reminded that VitaMist’s vitamin and mineral products are dietary supplements, which are classified as food by the FDA. If the labeling or accompanying or associated literature made any preventive, curative or remedial claims, VitaMist’s products would be re-classified as drugs and subject to entirely different regulations by the FDA. Accordingly, the Company makes no claims that its products can be used for the prevention or treatment of any human ailment, infirmity, injury, or defect.
Our products clearly indicate the dietary ingredients on the labels which are intended to supplement the daily diet of our customers. These ingredients were selected to give you the highest quality benefits. Additionally, we recommend the Core 4 as the foundation for everybody’s supplementation program.
Question:
How much calcium is in Osteo-CalMag? I need 1000 mg per day and I need to get this from Osteo-CalMag.
Answer:
Osteo-CalMag is an herbal supplement (the herbs are listed on the product label) with the addition of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D. The primary purpose is to provide a balanced herbal extract as a dietary supplement, in addition to providing soluble and readily available calcium and magnesium in the correct proportion - thus maintaining a steady supply of these essential electrolytes. Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium. We highly recommend this supplement as an addition to a good diet which includes calcium rich foods, including dark, leafy greens, fortified cereals, and dairy products.
Question:
Tell me about the Colloidal Minerals.
Answer:
The importance of minerals in the diet is often overlooked. Some 95% of our body’s functions depend upon minerals in some way. Because of soil depletion and the loss of top soil due to flooding, over-irrigation and deforestation together with poor crop rotation, a large proportion of the trace mineral content has been lost from today’s food supply. Many of the fruits and vegetables we purchase today contain less than half the number of minerals that used to be found in produce. VitaMist’s Colloidal Minerals. contains over 70 minerals, both major and trace, which makes the product one of the most complete mineral products on the market today.
The colloidal minerals that we use are extracted from humic shale deposits found in Utah. These deposits originate from plant material which existed some 75 million years ago when the earth was pollution-free. All the minerals we find in the shale (and hence the colloidal minerals spray) were present in those plants.
Benefits of a mineral rich diet include high energy levels and better utilization of our food and supplements. Vitamins require minerals for correct functioning in the body.
Question:
Why are you putting substances like polysorbate and potassium sorbate into the products?
Answer:
Many of you have noticed that there have been some recent changes in the labeling of a few VitaMist’ Sprays. These changes have resulted in a more professional, upscale image for the products, keeping them on the cutting edge of the nutraceutical industry. Due to changes in the laws governing dietary supplements we now list, on the label, all the ingredients that go to make up a tube of VitaMist dietary supplement spray. We want to assure you that everything in the tubes meets VitaMist’s criteria for safety, quality and purity.
Potassium sorbate is a common ingredient in liquid foods and drinks. It provides essential potassium at the same time as preventing deterioration due to molds, which can occur in any nutrient solution. Polysorbate 80 is an ingredient which is derived from plants and which helps the nutrients disperse in the spray. It is also critical in enhancing absorption of the fat soluble vitamins.
Question:
What combination of sprays do you recommend? Can I take more than one, how many?
Answer:
This is a very difficult question to answer. Every person is different and with different lifestyle and different supplemental nutritional requirements. So much depends upon your diet. We do recommend that everyone use the Multiple as the cornerstone of their supplementation. We then recommend that you add additional products based upon your specific needs. For example, the athlete will need the three performance products. To remain calmer, some of you may want to take D-Stress. To keep your eyes in tip top shape, Vita Sight may be a good selection. We market many different products, each one of which contains beneficial ingredients. We cannot make individual recommendations because we are not familiar with the requirements of each individual, but we urge that you check into some of the nutritional books to determine for yourself which products offer the most benefit for your individual needs.
Question:
How many carbohydrates do the products contain?
Answer:
All the sprays contain very small amounts of carbohydrates. The carbohydrate content of the sprays is 0.15 g per dose of 8 sprays. This is less than you would find in a single jellybean. This applies to all the sprays.
Question:
What products should you avoid when pregnant?
Answer:
Pregnant women should make sure that they are aware of the product ingredients and come to their own conclusion, and also consult their health care provider. Weight management programs are unusual during pregnancy, and again, before embarking on any such program we recommend consulting your health care provider.
Question:
Will your products interact with my prescription medication?
Answer:
We stress that any person taking medication under the care of a physician should discuss the use of other products with the physician. The physician needs to have full knowledge of products you are taking in order to fully evaluate your treatment.
One should also remember that the nutrients used in our products are identical to those found naturally in food. In addition, many of the herbs are relatively common and may be used in cooking.
Question:
What is in each of your products?
Answer:
The complete ingredient information can be found on all product labels.
Question:
Do VitaMist products contain gluten?
Answer:
None of our sprays contain gluten. Gluten is an insoluble protein found in some cereal grains, like wheat, rye, barley or oat. None of these grains are used in the production of any of our ingredients or in the processing of the products. There are many people who suffer from an intolerance to gluten (this disease is commonly known as celiac sprue, or celiac disease) so VitaMist Sprays are ideal for ANYONE following a gluten-free diet.
Question:
Is Vitamist Vegan-Friendly and do they contain alcohol?
Answer:
Vegetarian/Vegan-Friendly: Yes, with one exception (ArthriFlex).
Pescatarian-Friendly: Yes!
Kosher: Yes!
Safe for Passover: No.
Halal/Haram: Individual discretion required. Read on for more information.
Sourcing
The vitamins we use in our products are obtained from our suppliers located in New Jersey and California. All of our ingredients are Kosher, but many are not for Passover use.
Alcohol
-
All of our products contain flavors, many of which are made with low levels of alcohol. The flavors we purchase are Kosher and Parve (certified by Igud Hakashrus of Los Angeles). We do not have the particular source of the alcohol in the flavors.
-
Ethanol is used to extract the active ingredients from many herbs. The extract is then added to many of our products.
-
Ethanol is used to dissolve some ingredients, specifically melatonin and DHEA. For this reason, Melatonin, Sleep, DHEA+M and DHEA+W contain slightly more alcohol, ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 ml per day.
-
Due to the trace alcohol content in our supplements, they might not be suitable for those who adhere to a Halal diet. This determination should be made by you and your spiritual advisor.
Animal Products
All of our sprays contain glycerin that is derived from vegetable sources and certified as Kosher. We do not include other animal-derived ingredients in the majority of our nutritional supplements. The sole exception is our ArthriFlex Spray, which contains ingredients derived from the shells of crustaceans. ArthriFlex is not suitable for vegans, vegetarians or some adherents of Halal diets. It is, however, suitable for pescatarians who include shellfish in their diets.
